Postmodern Scottish Literature

Personal project
2017

A series of re-imagined postmodern Scottish literature book covers. Each cover was designed based on imagery that resonated with me upon reading each novel. The style is reminiscent of lino-cut printing, using only two colours to reflect the concept of ‘Caledonian antisyzygy’ in which many Scottish protagonists have two selves.

These novels are unified under the concept of a  ‘Postmodern Scottish Literature’ series. I created a logo and accompanying brand guidelines to represent this, which also reflects ‘Caledonian antisyzygy’.
