Graphic Design, Communications & Digital Manager

2022 - Present

After founding People Know How's Communications & Digital department in 2018, in 2022 I moved to a manager role, continuing the work of my Officer level post below and also incorporating further leadership and strategic elements. In this role, I lead on communications, campaigning & influencing, marketing, design, digital and IT, and work as an in-house graphic designer and developer.

  • Working as part of the senior Leadership Team, leading on the creation of our Strategic Plan
  • Influencing policy change through creating campaigns, coordinating national events and speaking at conferences and parliamentary groups
  • Working with key partners and the press including BT, Scottish Government, BBC, STV, Forth 1 Radio, local councils and universities
  • Building a CRM and implementing new IT systems
  • Managing a Communications Coordinator, IT Support Technician and Campaigns Intern

In 2018 I began to build a Communications & Digital department from scratch including:

  • Graphic design, brand creation, illustrations, motion graphics
  • Developing and implementing a Communications & Digital Strategy
  • Web design and development, SEO, analytics, UI design and UX design
  • Building and curating an in-house photography and video library
  • Social media and brand management
  • Designing and writing copy for publications, news pieces and press releases
  • Organising collaboration and networking events
  • Leading our digital transformation; software management, troubleshooting and systems admin
  • Managing a team of interns and volunteers
  • Working as part of the Leadership Team

Communications Assistant

  • Creating graphics and copy for print and web - booklets, flyers, posters, campaigns, website graphics, animations, infographics and newsletters
