Positive Transitions Service

People Know How

Visual identity, leaflets and illustrations created for People Know How for their Positive Transitions Service. This service supports children, young people and their families through primary and secondary schools across Edinburgh and East Lothian.

The style is influenced by folded paper cut-outs, reminiscent of childhood and reflective of projects such as Befriending and Art Therapy that are part of the service.

The style was originally created in 2017 for a tri-fold leaflet for People Know How’s Befriending & Mentoring Service that matches young people in Edinburgh schools with befrienders, helping them in their transition from primary to high school. From here, I was asked to create more materials and decided to synthesise everything into one consistent visual identity.

Other Positive Transitions Service materials include the PEF Initiative Booklet, created in response to a growing demand for People Know How’s services. This booklet introduces schools to the initiative and gives an overview of the projects and achievements of People Know How.

The Science Club is another Positive Transitions Service project, delivering workshops on science to 4 schools in Edinburgh: Blackhall Primary School, Lorne Primary School, Leith Primary School and Hermitage Park Primary School. Topics include Science & Art, Science & Music, Psychology, Galaxies, Forensic Science, Robotics and Liquids & Colours.

I have applied the style throughout the Positive Transitions Service pages on the People Know How website, and across various social media campaigns.
